Greed is a character from the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. The new homunculus had no recollection of the previous Greed at first, but gradually remembered small details of its past. To accomplish this, he reextracts his avarice as a Philosopher’s Stone and inserts it into the body of Ling Yao (who was more than willing to accept it). Greed returns to the story in Chapter 54 as Father decides he needs a new pawn because Lust’s death has left a void in the world. Greed is back, just as it was in the past. Greed is shown the true power of collaboration and bonds in the fight against his father’s army when he collaborates with Ling’s subordinates Lan Fan and Fu. Greed gradually loses his desire to stand atop all other things as he makes friends with Ling. Unfortunately, this greed eventually caused him to lose the respect of those around him and his reputation suffered greatly as a result. This greed eventually led to him making unethical decisions and taking advantage of those around him in order to further his own interests. He was always ambitious and wanted to be successful, but as he started to gain more wealth and status, he began to be more focused on accumulating more money and power. Ling became greedy when he achieved success in his career.
